Laser Lip & Tongue-Tie Technology – Palm Harbor, FL

How Our Technology Makes a Difference

Unlike lip and tongue-tie treatments of the past, we don’t use scalpels or surgical scissors to release tethered oral tissues (TOTs). Instead, Dr. Maggie uses the LightScalpel CO2 Laser lip and tongue-tie technology in our Palm Harbor, FL dental office, which allows her to make incisions similar to a scalpel without actually touching the oral tissue. This makes the process much more comfortable, speeds up treatment, and leads to minimal pain and recovery time.

Why Choose Florida Tongue Tie Institute for Laser Technology?

  • Certified by the American Board of Laser Surgery
  • Pediatric Dentist with Over a Decade of Experience
  • Latest Technology Guarantees Gentle Care

The Basics of Laser
Frenectomy Treatment

Light scalpel laser frenectomy tool

The LighScalpel laser emits a highly-concentrated beam of light, which enables Dr. Maggie to be extremely precise when removing unneeded oral tissue. This allows her to minimize any trauma to the nearby area, making the process less invasive. Also, as the laser works, it cauterizes the nerves and blood vessels, which prevents physical pain and bleeding. As a result, many patients don’t even need local anesthetic, which helps speed up the treatment even more.

Diagnosis

First, Dr. Maggie will diagnose your child with a lip or tongue-tie based on her vast training and experience.

Release

Next, she’ll carefully release the tie using advanced laser technology. Typically, this step only takes about 10-15 seconds.

Recovery

For recovery, a baby will immediately be given to mom and escorted to one of our private nursing rooms. We’ll give you exercises for your child to perform so they can relearn how to use their mouth properly.

Re-Check

Finally, we’ll provide a re-check about a week later to make sure everything is going as planned.
